KY Foundation

Purpose

The Foundation for Business students in Aalto University (KY Foundation) aims to support the progress of students from the Aalto University School of Business in their societal, social, professional and mental goals as well as provide assistance to studies and study life and help with the bonding of students. The KY Foundation does this by, among other things, funding students’ extra-curricular activities, cultural and sporting events and financially supporting studies and requirements for studies. The organization was founded in 2008.

Organization

In the foundation’s affairs, the highest power of decision-making is held chiefly by the board. The KY Foundation’s board is in charge of overseeing the foundation’s operations and of representing the organization. According to the rules, the board ensures that the foundation is working as necessary to achieve its purpose and that funds are invested in a secure manner while making a profit. The board’s job is to make suggestions to the supervisory board about the foundation’s budget, to take care of the foundation’s property and to put into effect the supervisory board decisions.

The KY Foundation’s operations are guided and monitored by the foundation’s supervisory board. According to its rules, the KY Foundation’s supervisory board is the KY representative council.
